ANXIOUS AND ISOLATED
CASTING CALL

Vision

In the current context we are faced with the unchartered and compelling circumstance of every person around us experiencing one thing, all at once. A global pandemic. But it would be remiss to assume that we are all experiencing this, or impacted by it in the same way.

As a documentary filmmaker and photographer, my practice is filled with financial uncertainty at the best of times. The effects of COVID-19 however, are completely unprecedented and have hit particularly hard. Anxious & Isolated is a concept resulting from my own experience during this time, and my interest in that of others’.

The work will be a multimedia visual study of mental health in the time of COVID-19.

Through a series of documentary vignettes, video interviews and photographic portraits, I will explore the idea of mental health in times of uncertainty, question what the future holds and consider what support and community look like when we are forced to isolate.

Who I am looking for

I am looking for Victorian based people who have faced challenges in relation to their mental health during Covid-19.  Mental health challenges take many shapes and forms and I am interested in all of them.

Further to the challenges, I am interested to understand if there have been moments, deeds or experiences that have offered hope in some way, allowed broader perspective or some small reprieve in an otherwise tumultuous time.

To reflect the diverse population here in Victoria, I am keen to ensure stories are captured from different ages, genders, ethnicities, professions, social circles etc. The work will include a series of audio interviews and photographic portraits that provide a glimpse into people’s experiences during this challenging time.

If this sounds like you or someone you are close to, and you are open to sharing your story, please fill out the contact form below.
